When I think of Maverick, I think of the main character of the movie Taken. He has a “very particular set of skills; skills that he has acquired over a very long career…” that essentially rescued our Salesforce Visual Force pages.
As a Solution Architect on a complex project, I lost a key developer who left the project without finishing his work nor doing a proper knowledge transition. Already having a large workload, I needed someone to come in and resolve the issues with our portal pages and keep this task on track.
Maverick quickly determined the cause of our problems and offered a clear explanation of what was needed to move forward. Furthermore, he resolved the issues and was successful in presenting them to the client.
Maverick is a great person to have on your team. He knows what he is doing and can get things done quickly. He can communicate effectively with client internal and client resources. And his down to earth attidute makes working with him is fun.
I worked closely with Maverick from July 2015 to February 2016.
We built a web application to help pricing experts analyze and act on insights from big data analytics. This being an info-vis application for exploratory statistical analysis, form is function. The UX designer must be familiar with statistics and cognition to be able to design visualizations that take advantage of the user’s preattentive processing to direct their attention to the core insight. The user interacts with the visualization itself, rather than with buttons and links. By designing the UX for this application, Maverick has shown that he has the rare combination of skills and temperament needed to design UX for exploratory statistical analysis applications.
Maverick is customer-centric, patient, and always eager to learn new things. He is willing and able to step into the user’s shoes and figure out exactly how the application could help make them more productive.
He keeps his coding skills up to date, and uses that knowledge to not only communicate well with developers but also to choose visualizations with an eye on development timelines.
I have no doubt that Maverick will be as much of an asset to your projects as he was to mine. I would not hesitate to hire him into any future project, should that opportunity present itself.
